Simple Knitting program , very useful . I also have kept an old pc going just to use it.
I regret not having bought the toys and pet program while I still could
I just started knitting again after a decade or so. I had Knitware 2.40 - it was the best! I might just do what Len is doing and set up an old computer to run it.
I have made this run by setting up an XP environment using VMware workstation 17, download the XP (SP3) ISO and entering an old product key. Then you should be able to install and run.
I tried messing around with the Borland and running in compatability mode but even the install manual for this product recommends XP over windows 7.
Only the best software for knitting patterns. Wish MS would allow the original to be put onto the new operating system. Kept one old computer alive just to run this excellent program!
I have the actual CDs for this product from an original release. It's worth the monkey business to install it because it's so useful. I've knit sweaters for people remotely and they turn out perfectly sized regardless of the yarn type. I use it with an LK150 machine and it takes away the guesswork regarding size and gauge.
Jackie, we too find this software most helpful not only for knitting machine she uses but for hand knitting as well. None other out here can beat it. Even keep an old Win 7 computer just for this Knitware application.
Is it possible to buy a licence for this program? I've got the demo version loaded on a (pre Windows10) and - subject to sorting out some Borland issues - would like to get full access to its features.
I got this program to run under Mac, on a Windows 7 install. Works well. Wish to heck someone would fix it to run under Win 10. SWMBO loves it to death. Works perfectly and is infinitely adjustable. No other knitware we've found does the same.
The Knitware software WILL work with Windows 8 and 10. It needs to be installed on a Windows 7 computer, and then you copy the installed folders to Windows 8 or 10. Install the Borland Database Engine, then open the software using the kws250 application icon in the folder. I put a shortcut to it on my desktop or toolbar.

Thanks for your question. Knitware Sweaters doesn't integrate with Mac OS X.
